About IGIC

Since its inception in the early 2000s, the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) has been a pivotal grass-roots organization dedicated to advancing and improving Geographic Information Systems (GIS) across Indiana. As geospatial technologies and our community have evolved, IGIC has remained a critical guiding force. Now, we stand at a crucial juncture, seeking to define our path forward.

Purpose

We are extending an invitation to key stakeholders to collaboratively shape IGIC's future. This in-person (only) strategic planning meeting aims to:

• Reflect on our past achievements
• Critically evaluate our current position
• Strategically plan our organization's future

1. Brief overview of GIS in Indiana
2. IGIC's historical impact and evolution
2. Strategic Discussion Focus Areas. We will engage in an in-depth exploration of the following key questions:
1. Organizational Fundamentals
1. Should IGIC continue to exist?
2. What is our current and future value proposition?
3. How can we most effectively contribute to GIS advancement in Indiana?

2. Leadership and Structure
1. Is a part-time or full-time director necessary?
2. What would the director's responsibilities entail?
3. How should our relationship with our administrative services company evolve?

3. Relationship Optimization. How can we maximize our partnership with the Indiana Geographic Information Office to best benefit the Indiana GIS community?
